You Have It In You

But how many of us can just lie in bed for 60 days at a stretch without going insane, The best way to approach this challenge is to treat those 60 days as a job. Maybe after that, you can go and splurge yourself with the money.

Essentials Provided

NASA is making this experiment easy by providing the occupants with TV, their phones, and other essential products. One can read, play video games, go online, use a phone or even read books. The only catch is that, all this needs to be done in a sleeping position.

Point Of This Experiment

NASA wants to study how the body reacts to extended periods of rest for astronauts who are going on extended periods of space travel.

NASA says the experiments is designed to achieve three things:

1. Understanding how one’s changing physiology in space may affect the process of certain missions.

2. Understanding the impact of one’s physiological state on their ability to perform in particular tasks.

3. Preparing countermeasures to combat any impairment that these physiological conditions may impose.

Two Categories

The experiment comprises of two categories- Exercising and Non-exercising.

Special tools will be provided for the exercising group to exercise and stay active while lying down. Whereas the non-exercising group needs to be at complete rest the entire time.

NASA will meanwhile perform tests on the applicants bone, muscle, heart, circulatory and nervous systems, nutritional condition, and the body’s capacity to fight off infections during their entire stay.
